Who sells car sharing to companies? Competitive intelligence for a Kraków software house
A Kraków software house that builds fleet solutions wanted to know who in Poland sells corporate car-sharing apps, what those apps can do and what they cost.
Challenge
Suppliers don't publish price lists. You get a quote only after a call with a sales rep and after sending your list of vehicles. On top of that, some companies that show up in search results don't build their own apps at all; they resell someone else's. The client needed to separate real competitors from resellers and see real prices.
What we did
We started with a list of suppliers, which the client checked and approved. Then we compared the apps from two angles: the employee who books and unlocks a car, and the fleet administrator. We collected quotes for a specific fleet of 78 cars of different makes and model years, and we interviewed sales reps and project managers by phone.
Result
In 16 days the client received a report of over 30 pages. It splits the market into app developers, hardware makers and leasing companies that resell apps built by others. It compares app features, device installation times, and subscription and hardware prices per car.
The client could compare competitors' prices calculated for the same fleet, with their app features side by side in one table.
