Where will demand for steel structures come from up to 2035? Market analysis for Huta Pokój Konstrukcje
Huta Pokój Konstrukcje, part of the Huta Pokój Capital Group, designs, manufactures and installs steel structures. The board was planning the company's growth and needed data on how its market would change.
Challenge
Demand for large steel structures depends on investments that are still being planned: wind farms, transmission grids, bridges and railway lines. Some will start in a few years, some may slip. At the same time, domestic steel production is falling and companies increasingly buy steel abroad. The board wanted to know which sectors would order structures and what could hold that demand back.
What we did
We collected data on steel production, imports and exports in Poland and the EU, and on structural steel prices. We also compiled a list of companies active in the Polish steel structures market. We reviewed Polish and EU strategy documents, including Poland's Industrial Policy to 2035 and transport investment programmes, to see which projects are planned in energy and in bridge and rail infrastructure. We also described separately the investments that need large steel elements: industrial halls, military facilities, ports and offshore structures.
Result
The client received the first version of the report after four weeks. After two rounds of comments from the board, the final version was ready on 31 March 2025. The report includes a steel demand forecast for six sectors to 2035, three market scenarios with a PESTEL analysis, and recommendations on raw material supply and growth directions. After the project, the company gave us a reference letter.
