The primary market covers the sale of new products directly from manufacturers or authorised distributors. It covers sales between private individuals (C2C) and by professional sellers of refurbished equipment (B2C). Research shows that Polish consumers buying consumer electronics are guided mainly by price (70%). Demand for used products is also driven by rising prices of new devices, frequent replacement and the launch of new models.

Polish consumers are increasingly choosing to buy used electronic equipment. This applies in particular to larger and more expensive devices (desktop computers, monitors, TVs). Only smartphones maintain a relative balance between the primary and secondary markets.

Who leads the computer market in Poland and worldwide?
Lenovo leads the computer market, with its market share rising from 25.6% to 26.3% in Q4 2024, while in Poland the dominant brands are Lenovo, HP, Apple, Asus and Acer.
Although most Poles buying electronics are guided primarily by price, technical specifications, brand and current promotions also matter. PC sales are improving for two reasons: 1. People are replacing computers bought in 2020 during the pandemic. 2. Artificial intelligence (AI): Microsoft is promoting its devices by adding the Copilot feature, which gives computers new capabilities.

In Poland the consumer electronics and computer market is growing fast, and the dominant brands are Lenovo, HP, Apple, Asus and Acer. In gaming hardware, MSI and Razer hold a strong position.
Rising prices of new devices are increasing interest in the secondary market, where used and refurbished equipment is easily available on platforms such as Allegro, OLX or Amazon Renewed. In this segment, B2C trade exceeds C2C trade: it offers attractive prices and guarantees quality and working condition.

Data on computer shipments by the largest manufacturers in Q4 2024 show that Lenovo strengthened its leading position, with shipments up 4.2% and its market share rising from 25.6% to 26.3%. ASUS recorded the largest growth, 9.8% y/y, which raised its market share from 6.8% to 7.4%.
