Strategy workshop with your management board

A strategy workshop is a moderated board meeting that lasts 5 hours or a full day. We hold it before an analysis to decide what to research, or after the report to turn the results into a decision and an action plan with owners and KPIs. The session is led by a MarketHub advisor.

Length 5 hours or 1 day
Led by a MarketHub advisor
Outcome 90-day plan with KPIs
Trusted by, among others

We show client names and logos only with their direct consent. Most of our projects are covered by a confidentiality clause.

What is a strategy workshop?

A report does not make decisions. The board does, and different people read the same results differently. In the workshop we go through the results together, sort the options and agree who does what next.

We run the workshop at one of three points. Before the analysis, when the goal and research questions need settling. When choosing between options, such as markets or products. After the report, when the results need to become a plan.

When is a workshop worth organising?

Board members disagree about what to research and why
You are choosing between several markets, products or investment options
You have a report and want to turn the results into a plan with deadlines
You need a strategy document for a supervisory board or an investor
You want the team involved in a decision before you start implementing it

Three types of workshop

We fit the agenda to where your decision stands.

Kick-off

Before the analysis

We agree the goal, questions and scope of the research, so the report answers what the board actually needs.

Decision

Choosing between options

We compare options, such as markets or products, against criteria the board sets at the start of the session.

Implementation

After the report

We turn the results into a strategy and a 12–24 month roadmap with priorities, owners and KPIs.

Sample workshop agenda

This is what a typical day with the board looks like. We agree the order and timing before the session.

  1. Part 1 · Goal

Goal and vision: what the company wants to achieve and by when

  2. Part 2 · Model

Business model mapped on a Business Model Canvas

  3. Part 3 · Data

Research plan or review of the analysis results

  4. Part 4 · Risks

    SWOT analysis and risk map

  5. Part 5 · Plan

90-day plan with KPIs and next steps

What you get

A note with agreements and a list of decisions
A 90-day plan with owners and KPIs
Working materials: Business Model Canvas, SWOT and risk map
After a results workshop: a strategy document and a presentation for the board
A 12–24 month roadmap with priorities

When the module is part of an in-depth market analysis, industry, scientific and business experts also comment on the results.

Frequently asked questions about the strategy workshop

How long does a strategy workshop last?

5 hours or a full day. The length depends on the number of topics and participants.

Who leads the workshop?

A MarketHub advisor. Before the session the advisor learns about your company, the goal of the workshop and, if it is ready, the market analysis.

Who should attend?

The people who make the decision and will implement it: the board and the heads of the key departments.

Do you only run workshops after a market analysis?

No. A workshop can take place before the analysis to decide what to research, when choosing between options, or after the report when the results need to become a plan.

What comes out of the workshop?

A note with decisions and a 90-day plan with KPIs. After a results workshop, also a strategy document, a board presentation and a 12–24 month roadmap.
