What document is required for the "SME Internationalisation" call?

One of the requirements for taking part in the "SME Internationalisation" call is to prepare a document presenting the business model for introducing a product or service to new foreign markets. However, general, descriptive information is not enough to obtain funding and succeed. The new business model should contain market data that is as detailed as possible, proving that internationalisation can bring measurable benefits and profits.

You can obtain the data needed to complete the application documents by carrying out a market analysis and a competitor analysis. The conclusions from these analyses will also help turn dry data into specific actions that lead to success in the foreign market.

At MarketHub we can provide your company with comprehensive advisory services related to preparing a business model for the company's internationalisation, which can be financed from the "SME Internationalisation" call. With our help, you increase your chances of obtaining funding and spend less time on analyses and preparing the application documents.

Why analyse the market and competitors before entering a foreign market?

Market analysis shows the target market's value, size, growth potential and entry barriers, while competitor analysis shows which companies operate there and what their strategy is.

The key to developing an effective internationalisation strategy is an in-depth understanding of the target market.

Market analysis provides detailed data on the market where you plan to sell your products or services. It shows the market's value, size and growth potential. It helps identify success factors as well as barriers to entering and exiting the market. It shows the business environment in which the company will operate, from legal and organisational aspects (including the necessary approvals, permits and certificates) to issues related to marketing, distribution and technology (e.g. innovations and consumer trends). It also shows which threats you need to prepare for to minimise the risk of failure.

Competitor analysis, in turn, helps you get to know the competitive environment in the new market better, covering direct, indirect and substitute competitors. This analysis can tell you, among other things: which companies operate in the market, what their strategy and business model are, what products and services they offer, how they promote and sell their offer, why they succeed or fail, what sources of financing they use, and what plans they have for further growth (e.g. in terms of product portfolio and technological innovation).
